Well, we survived it...our second Halloween parade at Boston Scientific. 90 minutes of organized chaos where costumed (and sweaty!) toddlers parade the halls and collect CANDY. Lots and lots of CANDY. So much candy that upon turning around to pull the wagon forward (time elapsed = maybe 45 sec) Addison managed to chew her way into a box of Mike-n-Ikes. Right, because she was STARVING. The 4 suckers, 2 candy bars, bag of pretzels, and 2 bags of fruit snacks she just ate weren't filling.
And a big thank you to all my co-workers who were thoughtful enough to hand out stickers, pretzels, & animal crackers instead of candy.
Princess Leia (pictures to follow shortly) did well during the parade - she stayed in her wagon the whole time without any major meltdowns. Last year the crowds of people freaked her out and I ended up carrying her most of the way. She was waving at people, said trick-or-treat (TIK-TEET!) once, and even managed to say Thank you a few times with a little prompting.
After the parade is a whole other story. Hysterical crying when the costume had to come off. Clinging and pleading when I had to leave to go back to work. Smart teachers decided to take the kids right out side to burn-off some steam. They're going to have their hands full this afternoon. Sorry Jackie and Leah - good luck with nap time.
